  1. Keep drinking the Nashville ourple Kool Aid people! Chris Stapleton represents the true roots of country music and not the rap crap coming out of Nashville today.

  3. Sometimes I wish I could slap these kids with a nice comment but it wouldn't change a thing. I ot the old evolution argument thrown at me a while back and I turned it around and said, "I agree so what is Sam Hunt evolving from in terms of country music's history and narrative." Let's just say the crickets that were chirping were more country than Sam Hunt.

I'm surprised they didn't also crap on Meghan Trainor for best new artist. Or maybe those comments are elsewhere.

  4. all these Sam Hunt lovers... there's "Nobody To Blame But Them" for the current state of country music!

  5. Any one that thinks Sam Hunt is anywhere near the talent of Chris Stapleton has no idea what real country music is, & needs to pull their head out of their ass. Sam Hunt is a rapper & has no business on a country music stage. PEACE!

  6. Basically these kids and "8th Grade Level Divorced Housewives" want these pretty boy pop stars to win music awards, because they either idolize them or cream their pants over them. It has nothing to do with the music per se, or talent. To them Chris Stapleton is this bearded hippie looking man, who is not pretty, and thus how could he win an award over Sam Hunt..... I was not too fond of Garth Brooks' newest album, but I would even give an award to Garth Brooks before Sam Hunt. Garth Brooks has way more talent.

  7. So very proud of Chris Stapleton and the success he's having. In a world where genuine country stars are so few, it's super exciting to see him thrive! Keep it up, Chris!

  8. Who is Sam Hunt??? He's the one I've never heard of -- and I keep up with country music pretty well. I know Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift (at least, she's officially moved herself to the pop ranks), etc -- don't like their music and definitely don't consider it country, but at least I've heard of them. Who is this guy?

    2. So -- like the meme I saw today: "Music is like candy; you should throw all the rappers away." Definitely applies to country! In what alternate universe would anyone categorize rap as country music any way??

  9. Who is Chris Stapleton? If you actually knew real country music rather than pop country then you'd know. He's been writing songs for these "pop country" artists for years. "Drink a Beer" by Luke Bryan...not his. It's Stapleton's. "Comeback Song" by Darius Rucker. Not his. It's Stapleton's. "Never Wanted Nothing More" by Kenny Chesney. Not his. It's Stapleton's. Even wrote "Love's Gonna Make it Alright" by King George. I could keep going, but I won't. :) Do some research before being a dick. **Advice of the Day: DON'T BE A DOUCHE.** Check out Jompson Brothers and The Steeldrivers...oh...that's Stapleton, too. You're welcome.

    2. Finally someone who gets it. Chris Stapleton is iconic. Sam Hunt is a scaled-down version of FGL. Neither should be allowed to claim country music as their genre.
