OMG Reviews: Lee Bains III and the Glory Fires - The Company Man
by Brittany Fant, 15-year-old music fan and aspiring reviewer
Listen Here
My ears!!! OMG this is so friggin' loud! I usually review country and pop here, but Trailer gave me this rock song to listen to for this write up and now I have a headache. I read somewhere that this band got arrested for being too loud in Texas or something. I mean, that's pretty cool, but maybe Texas was right. The guitars are loud and twangy. The drums are loud and fast. And Lee Bains III sings loud. LOUD LOUD LOUD. It sounds like they're breaking dishes with baseball bats in a garage full of cranked tractors. I don't really know what they're singing about… I mean, a company man, sure. And I heard something about Georgia Pacific… maybe? Don't trust the people who make toilet paper? Why? I guess this might be catchy to some people who like to slam dance at a biker bar or something. My sweetie Hunter Hayes(!!) would probably cry if he heard this song and I can't say I blame him. It hurts. Now, this Lee Bains III guy is kind of cute, to be honest.

If Dallas Davidson Had Written These Big Hits
FTM ponders what these famous rock, R&B, rap and country songs would have sounded like if Dallas Davidson or any of his compadres had written them...
Pearl Jam - Even Flow
Gravel road, trucks arrive tires oversized
Oh, bring some hoes, who can make the sugar shake
Better yet, we'll have Miller Lite again
Lite again, Lite again...
Roberta Flack - First Time Ever I Saw Your Face
The first time ever I saw dat ass
I felt my skinny jeans start to rise
And the moon and the stars over my tailgate
Got to watch me get in them thighs
Merle Haggard - Fightin' Side of Me
If you gone mad-dog, step up:
Let these brass knucks be a warnin'.
If you're cock-blockin' on hotties, son,
You bout to meet the fightin' side of me.
Carl Perkins (Elvis Presley) - Blue Suede Shoes
Well, it's one for the honeys,
Two for the shine,
Three for my Chevy,
Past the county line.
But don't you step on my square-toed boots.
You can do anything but lay off of my square-toed boots.
Jay-Z - 99 Problems
99 problems but a hitch ain't one
If you need to pull a trailer, get a Smittybilt son
I got 99 problems but a hitch ain't one
Hit me

Aldean Army Enlistment Requirements
Nashville Gab recently wrote a piece that very fairly discussed the unequal public treatment of LeAnn Rimes and Jason Aldean regarding their marital infidelity. This brought out the Aldean Army to protest the treatment of their hero. Their comments were generally ugly, profane, dumb and/or misspelled. Here's an example.
Gab ended up taking down the piece due to the venomous reactions. Well, FTM happened upon this interesting chart showing the requirements for joining different branches of the "military." Enjoy.

They're Called Team BS for a Reason
I'm not making a claim that anyone is lying here, and I'm sure there are factors I don't comprehend at work... but take a look at these headlines.
And then take a look at the current available seats for each of the events. Granted, these shows are months away and the probability of them actually selling out is pretty high, but the fact is - neither of them is sold out, particularly the MSG show. So why the deception? Could it be that "Team BS" is concerned about ACM voting? The final round of voting is going on now... and Luke Bryan recently sold out two MSG shows. Hmmm. I'm not making any accusations - just pointing out the facts.*

Album Review: Those Crosstown Rivals - Hell and Back
Those Crosstown Rivals - Hell and Back
By Jeremy Harris
Rock isn't dead; you're just looking in the wrong places. Those Crosstown Rivals deliver a raunchy and rockin' collection of straight-up bad-ass tunes on their latest release, "Hell and Back." From the first high octane track "Be A Man" which comes on with a Green Day (1990's) style guitar intro and bust out into a straight-up rock tune with a great mix of vocals, guitar and drums that get the party started the right way. (Georgia Satellites on a hay wagon style, not a Georgia douchebag on a tailgate style.)
Up next is "Blood Sweat and Tears" featuring Justin Wells (lead singer of Fifth on the Floor) on guest vocals. This is the perfect cliche song because it tells you it's a cliche song is the first verse. In all reality, this is a pretty good song and so damn catchy. Picking you up year after year. Where we going from here. Blood sweat and tears.... Whoops! Told you it was catchy. I can't even keep from typing the lyrics. Ok I have to move on before I get stuck in a rut and only review this song.
"Hey guys, let's screw with people by adding car sounds, radio static and then a slow piano intro to a song." "Ok, but only if we can blow shit up after that and bust out a song that on the second listen people will swear they've heard before because it sucks them in.." In my mind that's a real conversation that happened between band members during the recording of track 3 "The Diary." Maybe I'm... Ok, I'm 100% wrong but it sounds good in my head just as the song does. Sometimes that's all that really matters.
"Hell and Back" and "Look at Me" follow up and maintain the pace with their gritty vocals and no punches pulled lyrics that you'd expect by this point in the album but what you didn't expect was an organ on the title track. Yep, and it's great. That's right, a rockin' organ part.
Every band needs a song like "The Rain" on every album. Something just a little off the pace of the rest of the but it has to have good lyrics and brings it all together. In this case it does just that.
)
The final two tracks "Six Strings" and "Ugly Side" round out this fine album by Those Crosstown Rivals just as they should, by finishing just the way it all started: High energy and fast-paced.
