man. i wish i heard whatever it is everyone else does in that new VH record...
ReplyDeleteMe too.And Kellie Pickler threw a little steel in the background and people marvel at how country she is now.Same shit as she's done before.
ReplyDeleteI can see how the VH album might not work for everybody. I guess it just hit me right the first time I listened. I disagree on the Kellie Pickler album. Aside from the first single, "Tough," I think all the songs are more country in feel and lyrics than her previous work... it's not just an instrumental change.
ReplyDeletei bought the kellie pickler cd and i don't have her first 2 cause they suck but this one is really country and good. My Favorite track is "Stop Cheating On Me".
ReplyDeletei am just happy to not see Tim's "Emotional Bullshit" CD on your list that has to be the worst album he has put out ever. only 2 good tracks. Better than i used to be & Touchdown Jesus
Great list. I'm loving Gretchen Peters new one and just bought Punch Brothers and Darrell Scott. Lets hope they'll be at least one mainstream country release in 2012 that can equal the quality of the music here. Highly doubtful, but you never know...
ReplyDeleteNice to see an artist as mainstream as KP on this list! I have to disagree with Anonymous, though, 100 Proof is much more country than her previous releases, and it isn't just because she added some steel guitar to the mix. Everything about the project is more country in nature from the themes, to her delivery, and the people she's surrounded herself with. I'm loving the title track to that album right now.
