More Monday Memes: Country Radio, Alan Jackson, The Christmas Shoes

  1. Wrong, wrong, and wrong again. If you think that the Nickelback of country music never covered a rap song and that he's some sort of "traditional country artist", then you're not only naughty, but you're also extremely ignorant. Indeed, Alan Jackson, the Nickelback of country music, has been very naughty this year. Not only due to his destruction of country music, but also because of the apocalyptic aftermath spawned because of that. Of course, bro-country and metro-bro acts like Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, and Dan + Shay continue to be popular within mainstream country (although thankfully, there are still some good traditional mainstream country acts like Luke Combs, Jon Pardi, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, and Eric Church). But there's so much more. Now we have out of all people, pop superstar Justin Bieber holding current number one country song, just like with fellow pop star Bebe Rexha last year. And as for "Old Town Road", if Jackson hadn't polluted country music with hair metal, hip-hop, EDM, and Drake style R&B influences, "Old Town Road" would've been laughed out of the genre, rather than have a controversy arise from its rightful removal from the country charts. Hell, I bet Jackson actually wanted "Old Town Road" to stay on the chart and beat out Bebe Rexha's 50 week run as the number one country song. Either way, Justin Bieber and Bebe Rexha both having a number one country song, along with the controversy surrounding the removal of "Old Town Road" from the country charts, are also the apocalyptic aftermath of what Jackson did to country music. And speaking of hip-hop and R&B, contrary to what that meme says, it is clear that Jackson knows very well a number of hip-hop songs, as he not only of course incorporates hip-hop sounds into his music, but has also covered multiple hip-hop and R&B songs in concert (alongside an ABBA song for some bro-country reason), specifically:
    * Akon - Don't Matter
    * Wiz Khalifa - We Dem Boyz ( video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFOtWpul3ZY )
    * Soulja Boy - Turn My Swag On
    * Future - Mask Off
    * Flo Rida - Whistle
    * T.I. - Whatever You Like
    * Big Sean ft. Nicki Minaj - Dance (A$$)
    * Lil Wayne - Love Me
    * Drake - Make Me Proud
    * Waka Flocka Flame - Hard in da Paint
    * Shaquille O'Neal - (I Know I Got) Skillz
    * ABBA - Super Trouper
    * Fetty Wap - Jugg
    And speaking of Christmas, I actually listened to Alan Jackson's Christmas album "Let It Be Christmas" and as usual with Jackson, it was another bro-country mess, with the only difference from regular bro-country being the Christmas themes being thrown in. As expected, I heard many screaming rock guitars and electronic beats in that album. The Nickelback of country music can go on Santa's naughty list with his bro-country cohorts like Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, Sam Hunt, Dan + Shay, Brantley Gilbert, Colt Ford, and Mitchell Tenpenny for all care.
