I worked as a ticket checker at his Boston show in June, and that's something I thought when I first looked at him--a mechanic vibe (but he sold out two shows at the 65,000 seat Gillette Stadium, while Jason Aldean couldn't only do one at the 20,000 capacity...I keep forgetting the name, it's been changing for decades since it opened as Great Woods in the 80's. And forget heat exhaustion--the first night he kept playing in a downpour until the lightning warned was sounded)
