At first I thought maybe the jokes about BG's fans were just good natured ribbings, but now that I see BG fans saying stuff like "Im gone beat your ass" (Iols) I'm beginning to think that maybe the mockery of BG fans is actually accurate!

Show respect to the real deal people who.paved the way. Don't just name drop Waylon, Cash, Willie, et al, but play great music that some monkey in a suit doesn't make you play.

Hey, Anonymous: Drake never said Gilbert doesn't write his own songs, or hasn't been around for years, or that he follows a monkey in a suit. Drake just said that he has a douchey persona and his fans are idiots. Honestly, a lot of Brantley fans do seem to be idiots (though the same could be said of fans of many country artists) and Brantley's persona is douchey. He may be a kind and nice person in real life, of course, but the persona he plays as an entertainer is one of a douche. Obviously, its popular, though: douches can be entertaining!

I am a huge music fan and I follow bands from a wide variety of genres. I'm 26 years old and since I've gotten into music I've never come across an artist who writes
Like he does. He's country rock. He's not trying to be Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, or Willie Nelson. He is who he is and he sticks to his roots. To be as douchey as you say he is, he's one of the best country poets of the 15 years. He writes everything he plays and he feels everything he writes. Suck a dick and get off of the message board if you don't like it.
