From the hip-hop, R&B, and hair metal inspired bro-country and metro-bro of Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, Sam Hunt, and Kane Brown, to pop star Bebe Rexha having the longest running number one country song ("Meant to Be") at 50 weeks, to rapper Lil Nas X going viral with his country rap hit "Old Town Road" (although it was removed from the Hot Country Songs, there is still a significant chance it could be reinstated), it seems as if the only way to save country music is for a Thanos snap that would turn all of these hacks to dust. But which of these hacks is responsible for this? Alan Jackson, better known as the Nickelback of country music. Not only was it Jackson who practically invented bro-country ("Chattahoochee", "Country Boy", and "Where I Come From") as well as cementing negative stereotypes about country music ("It's Alright to Be a Redneck", "Jim and Jack and Hank", and especially that stupid 9/11-exploiting song where he couldn't tell the difference between Iraq and Iran), but it was also Jackson who pioneered all of those aforementioned non-country influences taking over mainstream country.
