Put Some Country in Your Country

Put Some Country in Your Country
(Lyric Parody of Travis Tritt’s “Put Some Drive in Your Country”)

Well I was raised on country classics
Like Johnny Cash and George Strait
Lord, I loved to hear ‘em
But I really got all pissed off round about twenty thirteen
That’s the first time I heard Florida-Georgia Line “sing”
They put some suck in their country, that really turned me off

Boys, put some country in your country
Hey, what the hell is wrong with y’all?
Cause when the bass is boomin’
It don’t sound right at all
Every time I hear that weak pop stuff on my truck radio
It makes me want to drive my truck right off of a plateau
Put some country in your country
Keep country living on

Went to a show in Atlanta on Sunday afternoon
The gig was packed with skanks and douchebags
And the singer was rapping June and moon
The songs had my stomach in upheaval
They were all “Hey baby hey”
Thought this was country music so I jumped up on the stage
“Put some country in your country fellas!”
I got kicked out of the show

Put some country in your country
Hey, what the hell is wrong with y’all?
Cause when the bass is boomin’
It don’t sound right at all
Every time I hear that weak pop stuff playing in a store
It makes me want to throw a temper tantrum on the floor
Put some country in your country
Keep country living on

Put some country in your country
Hey, what the hell is wrong with y’all?
Cause when the bass is boomin’
It don’t sound right at all
Well, I like some new country
I ain't putting it all down
But damn, I miss Merle Haggard
I wish he was still around
Put some country in your country
Keep country living on

Put some country in your country
Keep country living on
