Dustin Lynch saying that George Strait and Garth Brooks influenced his bro-country music is complete bullshit. George Strait's music and Dustin Lynch's music are as different as night and day. As for Garth Brooks, although Garth may have veered on the pop side, he's a full-blown traditionalist compared to Dustin Lynch and his fellow bro-country acts. On the other hand, Alan Jackson (the Nickelback of country music) is definitely one of Dustin Lynch's guys. Of course, Dustin Lynch and the Nickelback of country music are both blatantly bro-country artists who waste any potential they may have as traditional country artists. That being said, however, Alan Jackson makes Dustin Lynch (or any other bro-country act, for that matter) sound like George Strait and Waylon Jennings in comparison, given how much he has done to destroy country music, from living up to stereotypes and thus making country music the laughing stock it is today (i.e., "It's Alright to Be a Redneck", "I Still Like Bologna", and that stupid 9/11-exploiting song where he couldn't tell the difference between Iraq and Iran), to inventing the bro-country and metro-bro that has become the bread and butter of artists like Dustin Lynch, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, Sam Hunt, Hunter Hayes, and Dan + Shay. And of course, pop superstar Justin Bieber currently has the number one country song as part of a collaboration with bro-country duo and Rascal Flatts knockoff Dan + Shay, while fellow pop singer Bebe Rexha's collaboration with another bro-country duo, Florida Georgia Line, currently holds the record for the longest running number one country song at 50 weeks.
